Designer Preivews is always two years ahead of Architectural Digest or any of the other shelter magazines. It takes that long from the time prospective clients come to us to find a designer, and then a year to finish the apartment. (Note: that may take longer. New York interior designers and architects have to contend with condo boards and the city beaurocracy for permits.) After that, the magazines see it. New York interior designers all have their favorite editors, who wave their magic wands. Photography is scheduled – which can take three weeks to six months. Your can’t photograph a NewYork interior designer’s job in the Hamptons until summer, afterall! And then it’s scheduled for publication. This can take another year. Meanwhile, our clients have chosen their New York interior designers and architects and we can already see the trends, which of course is the reason that clients come to Designer Previews!
