New York interior designers and architects are shopping the art market in a major way this week. There’s a number of major art shows in town this week and the particularly popular one is Scopes, where the New York designers are hoping to find great buys to fill the walls for their clients who aren’t interested in buying expensive art now. The New York designers are thinking large scale. It wouldn’t be fair to say they would be just as happy to buy art by the yard, but with this economy, Manhattan interior designers seem to believe that scale gives value. –Karen Fisher
